The National Alliance on Mental Illness Provides support, education,
and advocacy for consumers of Mental Health services such as: Compeer
Matches trained volunteers to be a “friend” or “peer” to a
person with a mental illness diagnosis; C.A.R.E. Support group
for people with mental illness who learn from each other; Caring4Kids Third Thursday of each Month, Ruth Cooper Center, Building F,
6:00 PM (Call NAMI Lee County); In Our Own Voice Interactive,
multi-media presentation by and for consumers and others about living
with mental illness; Family to Family 12 week educational course
for families who have a loved one diagnosed with mental illness; Peer to Peer
A
9 week course of recovery for persons with serious mental illness.

FACT & Co-Occurring Disorders Resources: Regional & National Links

FACT is based on a
service delivery model that provides comprehensive, community-based
treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illness.
The goals of the program are to help participants spend significantly
more time in independent living situations and experience a reduction in
symptoms and hospitalizations. The program also assists participants
with employment opportunities and the development of positive social
relationships. |
